2. Top NFL Draft Prospect & Former LSU Standout Kyren Lacy Dies, Reportedly Took His Own Life During Police Chase
Kyren Lacy’s shocking death took over headlines this week when he died of an apparent suicide just days before a grand jury was meeting about his recent alleged hit-and-run. The 24-year-old LSU football star who had declared for the draft was apparently suffering from mental anguish from stories told in media and rumors spreading on socials that he was responsible for the death of a 78-year-old man.
He turned himself late last year in after he supposedly hit the man while allegedly driving recklessly and speeding in his car in Baton Rouge. Kyren and his lawyers maintained his innocence, but the pressures of so many people thinking he’s guilty, according to the lawyer, is what led to him taking his own life during a police chase this week. Kyren was reportedly arguing with a female family member when he fired off a gun and ran. Cop were called and they chased him down, until he ended the chase taking his own life.
His funeral services begin this weekend.
