Right on the heels of Love is Blind comes Temptation Island, the show’s wildest cousin, set on a pretty island. If you thought the Netflix reality TV dating show sphere could not get any more ridiculous, think again. The newest entry brings four couples to a secluded island to “test their love.” How? Easy, by placing the men and women in separate villas filled with eligible singles and having them go on dates with said singles. Except this new format is not exactly new.
Temptation Island, hosted by Mark L. Walberg, originated on Fox in 2001 and later aired on the USA Network. Netflix’s newest version of the show is being treated as Season 1, but it’s technically the ninth season of the show. It features four new couples: Ashley and Grant, who have been dating for 1.5 years, Alexa and Lino, who have been dating for 3.5 years, Brion and Shanté, who have been dating for 1 year and Tayler and Tyler, who have been dating for 2.5 years.

By the time the ten episodes of the show—which, unlike Love Is Blind, were released all at once, so the show could be binged in its entirety—are over, there’s been one threesome, two very messy breakups, and one engagement. But which couples actually left Temptation Island together? What happened to Shanté and Brion? And, are they still together on Temptation Island?
Are Shanté and Brion still together from Temptation Island?

Status: Still Together
The answer seems to be yes—even though for about 99% of the time on the island, we would have bet hard on no. The two came to the island with Brion wanting to prove that he could have platonic relationships with women. He pretty quickly proved that he couldn’t, and when he failed, he failed pretty spectacularly—by having a threesome with Alexa and Courtney down at the men’s villa. After he did, Brion even told the camera he had no regrets, something the show showed Shanté at the bonfire.
But right after that, Brion seemed to come to terms with what he did, and what he was hiding behind. He was shown how his behavior hurt Shanté in not one, but two bonfires. And he opened up to Mark about how he’d been using the threesomes and humor and so many other things as a deflection to not really open up and face his emotions. Even up to the final bonfire, however, it didn’t seem like this introspection would be enough for Shanté to forgive him for the cheating or the disrespect.
Brion apologized at the final bonfire, but Shanté seemed to be struggling with whether she could forgive him. He even, at one point, said he didn’t deserve her and understood if she couldn’t forgive him, with Shanté walking off to speak with what looked to be a producer in a corner. But when she walked back to talk to Mark and Brion, to the shock of everyone, including Brion, she finally agreed to give him another chance and walk off the island with him. All seems to indicate the two are still together to this day, with Brion promising to work to rebuild that trust. Hopefully, that’s exactly what happened.
Suspiciously, Brion posted on his Instagram story, “I had to come back to say this…all y’all haters, you played yourselves” with the laughing with tears emoji as well as a story of him lipsyncing to Paramore’s “Still Into You.” What does that mean? We might find out soon!
