Temptation Island isn’t exactly a new idea—but the show is new to Netflix and it is coming to the platform just the show’s latest, and perhaps insignia reality TV dating show, Love is Blind, is ending its eighth season. And though Love is Blind has always been reliable in delivering both drama and actual love, Temptation Island is looking to up the stakes in both.
And just with the premise, it sounds like it could. Four couples, one secluded island. A test of their love built on temptation. The men live in one villa. The women on another. Those villas are filled with eligible singles. The men and the women go on dates with said singles. Will they still even want their original partner at the end of this? Will they find clarity or will they find someone new?

The format has been seen before. Temptation Island, hosted by Mark L. Walberg, who is back for Netflix’s version, originated on Fox in 2001 and later aired on the USA Network. Netflix is treating this version as a new one, but it’s technically the ninth season of the show. It features four new couples: Ashley and Grant, who have been dating for 1.5 years, Alexa and Lino, who have been dating for 3.5 years, Brion and Shante, who have been dating for 1 year and Tayler and Tyler, who have been dating for 2.5 years.
Are Ashley and Danny still together on Temptation Island?

Status: Likely not together
Ashley’s relationship with Grant didn’t last long on Temptation Island, at least on Ashley’s side. For Ashley, they were pretty much done as soon as she saw Grant not just kiss but step into a shower to have sex with Natalie, breaking all the boundaries they’d set for the island. Worse of all was that, although it was Ashley’s idea to come to the island, it felt to her like she was waiting for the other shoe to drop from the beginning. She expressed to multiple people that she was expecting Grant to cheat and he did.
So, in a way, once Grant cheated, Ashley felt free. She reached the villa and told the men that she was now a single woman. And it was a new Ashley from then on, a much freer one. She smiled more, she let herself enjoy her time. She flirted with the two men she had more of an emotional connection with, Logan and Danny. But in the end, it was Danny who truly became Ashley’s safe space. She took him on several one-on-one dates, including her final one and truly looked like she was considering what a future with Danny outside the island could look like.
Of course, there was still Grant. And that meant that she had to deal with her final bonfire first. And in the final bonfire, Ashley looked furious. At first, she even refused to greet Grant and didn’t even look like she wanted to answer him as he talked about how he forgave her for making him feel unwanted. But later, she did call him out for being a serial cheater and revealed that she wanted to leave the island with Danny, not with him.
Grant looked devastated, but he had to leave the bonfire alone, as Danny walked into it for the first time and got his time in the spotlight alongside Ashley. Later, the two walked out of the island hand in hand. An everlasting love? Unlikely, as Danny and I always felt more tentative than anything. Neither made any promises other than to try and see if they could continue to get each other outside of the island. A way for Ashley to get out of a relationship that was clearly not serving her well. We can celebrate that. And, if she also got true love out of it? Well, then good on her. All we know for now is that Ashley’s social media still has a lot of pictures of Grant and none of Danny, so we shall see.
