The elder Millennials and Gen X-ers reading this will probably remember Please Hammer Don’t Hurt ‘Em, an MC Hammer album from 1990 and just an all-around fun thing to say when you want to make a reference to something younger people won’t clock. And lately, it’s exactly the phrase that pops into my head whenever I see Megan Thee Stallion bring out a new look with her currently red hair—except “Please, Meg, don’t hurt ‘em”—because damn, Megan, you’re knocking us out with these hairstyles, especially the latest seen during weekend two of Coachella.
After performing at Coachella last weekend with Ciara, Queen Latifah, and the most gorgeous, voluminous curls you could ever imagine, Meg’s back again and making memorable appearances at the musical festival’s parties. She posted a carousel of photos showing herself playing pool and generally revelling while wearing low-slung black and orange jeans with a matching halter top and string bikini bottom. Even her nails had a slate look that went perfectly with the black denim vibes of her ensemble.
But as eye-catching as her outfit is, we can’t stop staring at her hair. Although it’s been long lately, this is next-level: 50 inches, according to stylist Kellon Deryck, who posted footage of Meg walking, dancing—just making the most of swishing around so much length.
But it wasn’t just long. Meg’s warm ginger hair boasted a gorgeous texture somewhere between “I slept in loose braids” and “I own the biggest crimper you’ve ever seen in your life.” The uniform yet soft waves flow all the way from top to bottom, creating a contemporary mermaid look.
